A little preview
Alex discovered the robot beneath a blanket of old maps in the attic. It was two-thirds metal, one-third screws and gears, with a little light that blinked like a shy star. As Alex brushed cobwebs away, the robot's eyes opened and it asked its first question very softly. 'Why?' it said. 'Why is the moon sticky with cheese? Why do shadows hide under tables?
